
DIPPER Lab engages Belgium’s Multitel Innovation Center on AI research and training partnerships
The DIPPER Lab, KNUST team has visited the Multitel Innovation Center in Belgium to explore research and training partnerships in photonics, Artificial Intelligence, and bio-engineering as part of activities under the International Week at JUNIA University in France.
Members of the delegation expressed appreciation at seeing his academic journey translate into active research and innovation in Europe.
Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between Ghana and Belgium, including short research stays, co-supervised MSc and PhD programmes, joint publications, and training in optical design, signal analysis, machine learning, and photonic biosensing.
Student opportunities such as internships and PhD pathways in photonics, mechatronics, signal processing, and bio-testing were also discussed.
The DIPPER Lab delegation included Prof. Eric Tutu Tchao, Scientific Director, Dr Andrew Selasi Agbemenu, Deputy Scientific Director, Dr. Enoch Bessah, Climate & Ecosystems Service Monitoring, Dr. Prince Odame, Lead, Child Health & Innovation, Mrs. Christiana Selorm Aggor, Administrator and Dr. Caleb Ocansey Melanya, Lead, International Partnerships & Innovation and Prof. Frimpong Twum from the College of Science.
The delegation was joined by Marie-Astrid Bouchard and Herinaina Andriamandroso, both lecturer-researchers at JUNIA University, who supported the engagement and discussions.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by DIPPER Lab to strengthen international research collaboration and expand training opportunities for students and researchers.
