
DIPPER Lab's Scientific Director Appointed Guest Editor for Scientific Reports’ Digital Food Safety Collection
The Scientific Director of DIPPER Lab, Prof. Eric Tutu Tchao, has been appointed as a Guest Editor for the Digital Food Safety Article Collection of Scientific Reports, a leading open-access journal published by Nature Portfolio.
Prof. Tchao who is also HOD of the KNUST Computer Engineering Department will work alongside other international scholars to curate cutting-edge research exploring how digital technologies are reshaping global food safety systems.
The Digital Food Safety Collection focuses on emerging smart technologies such as IoT sensors, blockchain traceability, AI-driven risk detection and real-time food monitoring platforms, designed to enhance transparency, resilience and consumer trust across food supply chains.
The Collection also supports global development efforts around SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
Scientific Reports has officially opened a Call for Papers, inviting researchers globally to submit original research to the Collection.
The submission window is open until 20th August 2026, with flexibility available for authors who may require an extension.
As part of the Guest Editor team, Prof. Tchao will support the editorial oversight of submitted manuscripts, ensuring they align with the Collection’s scope and meet the journal’s rigorous scientific standards.
All submissions will undergo Scientific Reports’ standard peer-review and editorial processes.
