Proud Moment as DIPPER Lab’s Edna Atisu Graduates with First Class Honors from KNUST

DIPPER Lab celebrates the remarkable achievement of Edna Atisu, who graduated with a First Class degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) while continuing her role as a Research Assistant and National Service Personnel at the Lab.

Her graduation marks a proud moment for her family, peers, and the Lab that continues to support her professional and academic growth.

 Edna is currently developing EzzyTherm, a solar-powered digital contact thermometer designed for preterm infants, providing caregivers with an intuitive and reliable tool to detect early signs of infection and temperature instability.

 The device features a high-accuracy temperature probe, colour-coded OLED display, audio alerts in local Ghanaian languages, and long battery life supported by solar charging, making it especially useful in low-resource settings.

 Her work on EzzyTherm is guided by Dr. Prince Odame, DIPPER Lab’s Child Health and Innovation Team Lead, and exemplifies the Lab’s commitment to research that combines technological innovation with social impact.

 We are incredibly proud of Edna’s dedication, resilience, and the meaningful contributions she continues to make both academically and professionally.

Her journey is an inspiration to other young researchers and students pursuing STEM fields in Ghana.
