DIPPER Lab and NEIP Kick Off Adwumawura Programme to Drive Youth Innovation and Employment
The Distributed IoT-Platforms, Privacy and Edge-Intelligence Research (DIPPER Lab), in partnership with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has officially commenced the Adwumawura Programme, flagship government initiative aimed at tackling youth unemployment through technology-driven skills training and innovation.
The launch marks a key step in DIPPER Lab’s mission to promote digital innovation and entrepreneurial skills that supports national development.
As a technical partner of the initiative, the Lab will provide participants with practical training.
The Scientific Director of DIPPER Lab, Prof. Eric Tutu Tchao, encouraged participants to take the training seriously, describing it as an investment in their own future.
“Our mission as the technical trainer and a hub is to help eradicate unemployment by instilling entrepreneurial skills in you
“Even if you already know some of the tools or concepts, keep learning, build networks, and take the programme seriously,” he advised.
Prof. Tchao cited Farmerline, a KNUST-born technology company, as an example of how innovation and persistence can lead to successful entrepreneurship.
“We have the resources here at the Lab to support you. You can also approach some of our lecturers for mentorship. Aside from research and innovation, we train and we want to see you succeed.”
The Adwumawura Programme is implemented nationwide, offering young Ghanaians opportunities for technical training, mentorship, and business development.
