At the intersection of research, design, and storytelling stands Russell Boateng Gyamfi, the creative mind shaping how DIPPER Lab’s innovations are seen, understood, and experienced. As both a Brand Designer and Research Assistant, Russell plays a critical role in translating complex scientific and technological research into clear, engaging, and accessible visual narratives for diverse audiences.
A recent graduate of Communication Design (Advertising Design and Multimedia Management) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Russell brings a strong academic foundation alongside a practical, impact-driven design approach. His work has defined the visual identities of multiple DIPPER Lab projects, including Aurok 1 (HerdWatch), GalamSense, ANET, and other emerging initiatives—ensuring consistency, clarity, and strong brand recognition across all platforms.
Beyond visual identity, Russell has led full-scale advertising and communication campaigns for key DIPPER Lab projects. Notably, he spearheaded the entire advertising and visual design campaign for the FarmSense launch, successfully transforming cutting-edge agritech research into compelling stories that resonated with farmers, stakeholders, and development partners. He is currently leading the creative direction and advertising campaign for the Smart Indigenous Weather App (SIWA)—a project that uniquely blends indigenous knowledge systems with modern technology to enable farmers make more accurate weather predictions.
Russell’s contribution extends into visual documentation and storytelling through photography. Many of the images featured across DIPPER Lab’s digital platforms are his work, reflecting a strong attention to detail, visual consistency, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Driven by curiosity, collaboration, and purpose, Russell is passionate about using design as a strategic tool—not just to make research look good, but to make it understood, trusted, and impactful. His work continues to strengthen DIPPER Lab’s mission of innovation, inclusion, and real-world impact.
